Pacers Drop Contest To Bearcats

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 3-0 contest to Lander Wednesday evening in a PBC contest.

The Pacers are now 2-9-1 on the season, including 2-6 in league play.

Michael Sokolik ripped a shot just 81 seconds into the period but it missed high. The Bearcats responded with a goal in the 10th minute of action for a 1-0 lead.

Diego Vega tried to even the contest but his shot in the 17th minute was blocked. The Pacers continued pushing forward as Lucas Pegorer managed to also notch a shot, this time in the 19th minute, but it was high of the frame.

In the 20th minute of work, Jose Rabadan tallied a shot that narrowly missed left of the goal. 

The visitors managed to take five shots over a 10-minute span but no attempt was on target. Ofoje's team countered with three consecutive shots, including two from Rabadan, but none were on goal. 

Cason Donahue thwarted a chance by the Bearcats in the 43rd minute as the teams played to a 1-0 contest going into intermission.

Just three minutes after halftime, Finlay Dyer rocketed a shot that looked destined for the back of the goal. However, it hit the crossbar.

Hippolyte Denis' attempt in the 56th minute was blocked. Rabadan and Fabian Avila each registered attempts but both sailed high of the crossbar. In the 63rd minute of action, the Bearcats made it 2-0 with a goal.

After a foul, Rabadan took a kick from 25 yards out that missed high in the 78th minute of action.

Lander managed to score in the 86th minute for the final tally of the contest.

For the match, Donahue totaled three saves. Rabadan led the way with five shots while Denis had two.
