Pacers Fall To Indians In Non-Conference Contest

SALISBURY, N.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 1-0 decision at Catawba in a non-conference contest Saturday evening.

The Pacers are now 1-4 on the season. The Indians improve to 5-1.

Catawba scored what turned out to be the match-winning goal in the 10th minute of action.

Head coach Ike Ofoje's team pushed forward moments later. Davide Panucci registered a shot in the 17th minute of action. Just nine seconds later, Wynston Johnson's attempt sailed just high of the frame.

Jaymee Kambel registered a shot on goal at the 28:19 mark, but his attempt was stopped. Three minutes later, Mohamed Abdallah's shot was picked up by the keeper. Pablo Corcuera and Isaiah Brunson each notched shots in the final five minutes of the half but neither found the back of the net.

USC Aiken earned a corner kick in the 72nd minute, but the team was unable to post a shot in the final period of play.

For the match, Ofoje's team had six shots, including two on frame. Cason Donahue got the starting nod and played all 90 minutes. He accounted for four saves in the match.

The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they travel to Flagler for a 7 p.m., match. Live stats and video will be available at PacerSports.com.
