USC Aiken Plays To 0-0 Draw At Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team registered its second shutout of the season with the 0-0 draw at Coker Wednesday evening.

The Pacers are now 1-0-1 on the season. The Cobras stand at 1-0-2 overall.

Head coach Tina Murphy's team nearly made it 1-0 just 18 seconds into the game when Karis Coleman rocketed a shot that hit the crossbar. Fellow newcomer Megan Gettys garnered a shot in the 12th minute that sailed high.

After a corner kick by Shiloh Pirro in the 33rd minute, Jordan Luetkemeyer's header narrowly missed high. Late in the first half, Pirro and Kenna Souder each had shots on goal that were turned away by Sarah Swaim, keeping the match scoreless heading into the second half.

Late in the second half, Jasiah Pack belted an attempt that was saved. Two minutes later, she followed it up with another shot that was also corralled, keeping the score at 0-0.

For the match, USC Aiken posted 10 shots, including four on frame. The solid defensive effort allowed on five shots, including three on target.

Murphy's group garnered five corner kicks compared to three by the home team.

Pack led the way with three shots, including two on target. Pirro had two shots, including one on frame. Souder had the other shot on goal in the match.

Between the pipes, Kaydence Moore got the starting nod. Caitlin Thomason played the entire second half and posted three saves.
