AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken, in conjunction with head women's soccer coach Tina Murphy, is pleased to announce the addition of five student-athletes for the 2022-23 academic year.

Karis Coleman, Jackie Montes, Jasiah Pack, Kenna Souder and Caitlin Thomason will continue their education and playing careers at USC Aiken this fall.

"We are excited for these excellent additions to our 2022 class," Murphy stated. "The entire class as a whole has a very positive upside that I believe will contribute well to USC Aiken on the soccer field, in the classroom and in the community."

Coleman is a native of Decatur, Ga. The 5-4 midfielder attended St. Pius X Catholic H.S. There, she garnered all-region honors as a senior. Coleman also played club for Tophat Girls Academy, helping the squad to nationals.

Montes is a native of Fort Meade, Fla. The 5-4 forward is a transfer from Montreat College. There, she amassed 30 goals and 12 assists en route to being named the AAC Player of the Year. In 2020, Montes was an honorable mention All-American. A two-time first-team all-league selection, Montes was the 2020 Golden Boot winner.

Pack is a native of Dalzell, S.C. The 5-9 forward/midfielder attended Sumter H.S. She registered 32 goals and distributed 27 assists during her career. The two-time all-region honoree was also selected as a three-time captain. Pack played club ball for South Carolina Surf Soccer Club and helped the team to the National Cup Nationals.

Souder is a native of Luckey, Ohio. The 5-5 midfielder/forward attended Eastwood H.S. She tallied 139 goals and distributed 52 assists during her career. A three-time All-American, Souder picked up all-Ohio first-team honors four times. The four-time all-region selection was also the four-time Northwest Ohio District Player of the Year. Souder earned Player of the Year honors in her league twice. She holds the school record for goals (139), points (328), goals in a season (40) and points in a season (90). 

Thomason is a native of Apex, N.C. The 5-6 goalkeeper was homeschooled. She most recently played club ball for Wake FC Girls Academy. Thomason also played for NCFC, winning a pair of NCFC Elite ECNL State Cup Championships."
