AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken softball team swept a doubleheader against North Greenville Saturday afternoon by scores of 8-6 and 11-2.

In game one, head coach
Jaclin Poole's team jumped on top with a two-run first inning.
Brianna Dow singled with one away. Moments later,
Emily Ayers rocketed a pitch over the left field wall for a two-run round-tripper.
Down 3-2 in the bottom of the second, Jenna Dewalt singled and scored on Dow's double to the gap in left center field.
USC Aiken trailed 5-3 in the bottom of the sixth. Poole's team erupted for five runs to take a lead it would not relinquish. With one down, Shiquoria Bosket walked.
Ashlyn White pinch hit and registered a single. Dewalt was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
With two down,
Mallory Shaver ripped a single up the middle, tying the game. Ayers followed her up with a base knock, plating Dewalt.
Brooke Moore's triple down the left field line drove in a pair, giving the Pacers an 8-5 edge.
USC Aiken allowed a run in the seventh, but
Payton Baker completed the game and picked up the complete-game win in 101 pitches.
For the game, Ayers tallied three hits and drove in three. Moore and Shaver drove in two runs apiece. Dow and Shaver had two hits each. Ayers and Dewalt each crossed home twice.
Game two was scoreless until Poole's team broke through with a pair of runs in the fourth.
Lauren Wexler doubled in Ayers and Moore for a 2-0 margin.
Leading 2-1 in the fifth, Dow singled home Dewalt. With two on the base paths, Ayers crushed a 1-1 offering high over the left field fence to make it 6-1.
Up by a 6-2 count in the sixth inning, USC Aiken closed the game out with five runs. After Shaver singled home
Holly Daum and Dewalt, Moore ended the game with a line-drive three-run homer over the center field wall for the 11-2 final score.
Rookie
Lakyn Phillips was solid in the circle. She worked six innings and struck out three while giving up two runs on three hits.
