AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a 2-0 win over Georgia Southwestern Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 5-2-3 overall, including 3-2-2 in league play. The Hurricanes fall to 4-7-3 on the season, including 1-6-1 against conference foes.
Megan Gettys got the home team on the board at the 7:37 mark. After stealing the ball from Georgia Southwestern, she needed two dribbles to the right before sneaking one to the left of the frame for the 1-0 edge.
Head coach
Tina Murphy's team increased the margin to 2-0 when
Karis Coleman punched in the rebound in the box.
Mackenzie Cochrane earned the assist on the play at the 42:25 mark.
For the match, USC Aiken posted 14 shots, including 10 on goal.
Erika Bateman led the way with three shots. Gettys, Pack and
Shiloh Pirro had two shots apiece.
Between the pipes,
Kaydence Moore stopped five shots while earning the clean slate.

Erika Bateman and
Baylea Payne were honored for their hard work and dedication to the program.
