DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with North Georgia Wednesday evening in PBC action.
The Pacers are now 5-2-4 on the season, including 3-2-3 in league play. The Nighthawks stand at 7-2-3 on the season, including 4-1-2 against conference foes.
Head coach
Tina Murphy's team had a pair of early shots off the boot from
Megan Gettys. Just 18 seconds in, Gettys fired a shot that missed left. In the second minute of play, Gettys put a shot on frame. However, the shot was saved, keeping it scoreless.
Allison Mann registered a shot in the fourth minute of play.
With solid defense from
Kaydence Moore between the pipes, the Pacers withstood several first-half shots by the Nighthawks.
Kenna Souder blasted a shot in the 41
st minute, but it was also saved.
In the 83
rd minute, Gettys put another shot on target, but the keeper managed to stop it from finding the back of the net. With under two minutes to go, Gettys rocketed a shot toward the frame, but it was turned away.
For the match, USC Aiken totaled six shots, including four on goal. Moore garnered a career-best 10 saves in the draw.
The 0-0 draw marked the first tie against UNG since Sept. 29, 2007.
