Kambel Tallies A Goal And An Assist At Clayton State

MORROW, Ga. -  The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 6-2 decision at Clayton State Wednesday evening in a PBC contest.
 
The Pacers are now 2-11-1 on the season and 1-8-1 in conference play. The Lakers move to 8-4-3 overall and 5-3-1 in the PBC.
 
At the 3:35 mark, the Lakers registered the first goal to give the home team an early lead. Jaymee Kambel answered with a goal in the 11th minute of play off an assist from Lucas Pegorer, knotting the score at 1-1.
 
The Pacers registered a foul in the 31st minute, leading to a penalty kick for the Lakers which they took advantage of for a 2-1 lead.
 
With just 13 seconds remaining of the first half, Fabian Avila blasted a shot but missed high, keeping the score the same heading into the second period.
 
Despite a great effort from Cason Donohue, the Lakers registered another goal, giving them a 3-1 lead. In the 52nd minute of action, the Pacers came close to another goal with a shot by Kambel, but it narrowly missed high.
 
Mohamed Abdallah tried to put the Pacers within reach with a shot in the 82nd minute of play but it was high, narrowly missing the frame. 
 
Down 5-1 in the 87th minute, Kambel found Solon Pinto for a goal, making it 6-2.
 
Tyler Hughes registered three saves in the first half and Cason Donahue registered four in the second. Kambel and Abdallah both registered two shots, while Avila had one.
