MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team lost a 10-7 decision at No. 19 Georgia College Friday evening.
The Pacers are now 4-6 on the year.
In the second,
Morgan Hyde drove in
Sean McQuillan on a groundout. A
Nick Tripp triple plated
Jackson Hannon and
Tyler Littlefield for a 3-0 advantage.
Marcus Mastellone walked and moved to third after a bunt and a throwing error in the third stanza.
Jeff Cyr doubled home Mastellone and McQuillan for a 2-0 edge. A Hannon sacrifice fly pushed the score to 5-1.
USC Aiken increased the margin in the fourth when McQuillan singled home
James Eckert, who had reached on a double to left.
Leading 6-3 in the fifth, Mastellone singled in Hyde, who had reached on a base knock through the left side of the infield.
The Bobcats plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth and took the lead with a five-run eighth for the 10-7 final.
Tripp led the team with three hits, including the triple. He also drove in two runs. McQuillan and Eckert had two hits apiece. McQuillan scored twice.
