AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team lost a 4-0 decision to No. 20 Flagler Wednesday afternoon in a league match-up.
The Pacers are now 3-7-1 on the season and 2-4-1 in PBC action. The Saints improve to 9-2-1 overall and 5-2 against conference competition.

Tina Murphy's team played in the defensive third of the pitch in the early going as the visitors possessed the ball.
In the third minute of action, keeper
Mary Cecil saw her first shot by a Saints' player and promptly gobbled up the save. The defense played well, keeping Flagler from taking any shots the next few minutes.
In the 10
th minute of play, the Saints earned a corner kick and headed home the pass for what turned out to be the game-winning goal. The visitors struck again a moment later off a long pass, but Murphy's team turned up the defense after that.
The Saints tacked on another goal late in the half for a 3-0 edge they would take into intermission.
In the second stanza, the visitors saw three of their first four attempts fall into the hands of Cecil while the other missed high. In the 53
rd minute, Flagler scored for a 4-0 advantage.
USC Aiken began to possess the ball more over the next few minutes of action. In the 63
rd minute,
Alyssa Broad stole a pass from Flagler and dribbled up the right side of the pitch. She managed to put a tremendous shot on frame, but it was stopped by the keeper.
For the match, Cecil played all 90 minutes in goal. She stopped 11 shots. USC Aiken registered one shot on goal and a corner kick.
