AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision to Lander Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 1-10 on the season and 0-8 in league play.
For the match, USC Aiken tallied seven shots, including one on goal. Head coach
Ike Ofoje's team registered five corner kicks compared to one by the visitors.
The Pacers had a chance to get on the board in the early going as
Maik Spiekermann had a header that was saved in the 10
th minute.
Lander netted what turned out to be the match-winning goal in the 12
th minute of play.
Uri-Malcolm Young blasted a shot in the 30
th minute that sailed just wide.
Wynston Johnson missed in the 32
nd minute while
Davide Panucci's attempt right before half missed high.
The Pacers' first clean shot in the second half came off the boot of
Pablo Corcuera, but his attempt sailed just high.
Joey Valenti played all 90 minutes between the pipes and had three saves.
