AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team has been selected to finish fourth in the PBC Preseason Poll, which was released Wednesday.
League coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
The Pacers picked up 81 total points in the poll.
Augusta was selected first with 116 total points. The Jaguars garnered six first-place nods. UNC Pembroke was picked second with 102 total points, including a pair of first-place votes. Lander was chosen third with three first-place ballots and 92 total points.
Head coach
Mark Vanderslice's team edged Columbus State for fourth place as the Cougars totaled 79 points in fifth place. Georgia College garnered a first-place vote and was sixth with 74 points.
Flagler (63 points), North Georgia (57 points), Young Harris (42 points) and Georgia Southwestern (31 points) rounded out the top 10 teams.
Francis Marion (29 points) and Clayton State (26 points) concluded the preseason poll.
USC Aiken opens PBC play Jan. 6 at Young Harris. The Pacers begin their home league slate with North Georgia on Jan. 9.
