Throughout the 2019-20 season, the USC Aiken Athletic Communications office will provide weekly notes, giving all of Pacer Nation an in-depth look at the team.
The Real Deal
As of Jan. 1,
Dhieu Deing was averaging 11.2 points per contest. In his last three outings, Deing has increased his scoring average to 12.9 points after pouring in 17 points at Georgia College, 16 against Francis Marion and a career-high 28 points in the victory at Clayton State. Deing canned 10-of-13 from the floor against the Lakers, including six-of-nine from downtown.
Picture Him Rowland
Newcomer
Gus Rowland picked up his second double-double of the season last week. In the win at Clayton State, Rowland posted 13 points and 10 assists. For good measure, he added five rebounds and three steals.
Brock's Big Games
Faison Brock has quietly put together an outstanding season thus far. He has netted at least 20 points in five of the last six outings. In those six contests, he has three double-double efforts. In the win over FMU, he posted 14 points and 11 rebounds before notching 21 points and six assists to go along with three steals in the win at Clayton State.
Coming Into His Own
In six of the last seven games,
Damontez Oliver has scored in double figures. The Pacers have won each of the games he has hit the double-digit mark for points during the run. In the six games, Oliver is 29-of-63 from the floor (46.0 percent).
Rattling The Rim
Last week,
Shaquan Jules connected on 12 field goals while helping USC Aiken to a 2-0 record. Many of his field goals came in the form of thunderous dunks. Jules has rattled the rim on several occasions – from lobs to solo fast breaks. Either way, his strength and ability to soar high above the floor has led to multiple backboards swaying after he finishes dunking.
