AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference conducted its 11^th annual Women in Athletics Seminar on Thursday in Augusta.  Over 100 female student-athletes from the Peach Belt Conference and other regional schools attended the event.  The seminar gives female student-athletes who may be considering a career in athletics the opportunity to interact with professional women from a wide variety of disciplines.

This year's keynote speaker was renowned women's basketball official Dee Katner, one of the two women who were first to officiate an NBA game in 1997.  She has also officiated in 23 Final Fours and 15 national championship games.

The seminar began with a seven-person Q&A panel followed by smaller table discussions.  This year's panelists were:

Merlene Aitken-Smith - Senior Associate Athletic Director, Clayton State University
Kayla Barnett - Assistant Athletic Trainer, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Dr. Regan Dodd - Faculty Athletics Representative, Missouri Western State University
Dr. Brittney Ezell - Head Women's Basketball Coach, East Tennessee State University
Savanna Gonzales - Marketing Coordinator, Augusta Sports Council
Jessie Rosa - Senior Director of Athletics, Auburn University at Montgomery
Niki Rousey - Volleyball Official
