HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken recently placed fourth in the 2018-19 PBC Commissioner's Cup, which was recently announced by the league office.
The Cup is presented annually to the best overall athletic department based on regular-season standings and select championships.
Flagler won the award with 95.5 total points and a .764 rating. Columbus State took second (85 points, .714 rating) and North Georgia claimed third (79.5 points, .691 rating). The Pacers were fourth with 59.5 points and a .589 rating.
USC Aiken won the volleyball regular-season championship in 2018. The team took second in men's basketball and men's tennis. In all, seven of the 10 sports reached postseason play.
The fourth-place finish marks USC Aiken's highest finish since taking fourth after the completion of the 2012-13 campaign. The Pacers were also fourth in 2011-12. USC Aiken's best finish was a third-place effort in 2007-08.
