AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 8 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team notched a 7-0 victory over Young Harris Thursday afternoon in a league contest.
The Pacers are now 13-2 overall and 6-2 in league action.
In doubles action,
Salvador Bandeira and
Antonio Sabugueiro continued their dominance, winning 7-5 at the top spot.
Vicente Andrades and
Tales Silva combined for a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles while third-seeded
Francesco Satta and
Alex Sklizovic accounted for a 6-4 win at No. 3.
Silva needed three sets, but bested his counterpart 7-6, 2-6, 7-6 at the top singles spot. Bandeira registered a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 while Sabugueiro, ranked No. 60 nationally, won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3.
Andrades tallied a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 4 singles while
Alvaro Garcia Gil continued his stellar career with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles.
Satta rounded out the day with the 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6.
The team returns to action Monday when it hosts No. 11 North Georgia at 12 p.m.
