AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 19 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team notched a 6-1 win over Limestone Monday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 6-0 on the season while the Saints fall to 1-3.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team took the doubles point by winning two of the three matches.
Alex Sklizovic and
Francesco Satta picked up the win at No. 3 by a 6-1 count. Top-seeded
Antonio Sabugueiro and
Salvador Bandeira notched a 6-4 victory, securing the point for a 1-0 edge heading into singles action.
Sabugueiro gave the home team a 2-0 advantage after winning 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot. Silva finished off his opponent, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 1 for a 3-0 edge. Bandeira clinched the match for USC Aiken with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 slot.
Satta registered an 8-5 victory at No. 6 while
Vicente Andrades accounted for a 7-6, 2-6, 10-4 win at No. 4 for the final tally.
The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they host Augusta at 2 p.m.
