AMERICUS, Ga. – The No. 38 University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over Georgia Southwestern Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 11-0 on the season and 3-0 in the league, while the Hurricanes are 7-5 overall and 1-1 in the PBC.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team took the lead by taking two out of three of the doubles matches.
Elena Bompieri and
Teresa Franco Dias posted a 6-3 win at the top spot while
Karina Blas and
Edith Croda picked up a 6-0 win at No. 3.
Bompieri continued the Pacers lead after claiming the No. 1 singles match by scores of 6-3, 6-4. Dias extended the margin after posting a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2.
Third-seeded
Victoria Giannaccini won 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 while Croda took down her opponent 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4. Blas brought in a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the No. 5 spot while
Rebekka Heigermoser finished things off with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6.
The Pacers return to action tomorrow, March 24 when they head to Columbus State at 12:00 p.m.
