AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team lost a 9-4 decision to Erskine Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest.
The Pacers are now 14-8 on the season while the Flying Fleet stands at 13-10.

Kenny Thomas' team trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the second but
Alex Mills smashed a lead-off homer to cut the deficit to one at 2-1.
With two outs in the third,
Trey Polewski singled and moved to second on a wild pitch.
Conner Durden ripped a base knock to right field, knotting the contest as Polewski came around to score.
Erskine regained the advantage with a run in the fourth. The Flying Fleet added three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth for an 8-2 lead.
USC Aiken continued to battle throughout – and plated a run in the eighth stanza. Polewski started off the inning with a four-pitch walk. With one down, he moved to second when Mills drew a base on balls. A fielder's choice pushed Polewski to third. He scored on a passed ball to make it 8-3.
The teams traded runs in the ninth for the 9-4 final score.
For the game, Durden had a pair of hits while Mills, Polewski and
Chandler Rogers had one base hit apiece. Polewski scored twice.
