FLORENCE, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over Bluefield State Sunday morning to continue the longest winning streak in the program's history.
The Pacers are now 10-0 on the season while the Big Blues are 0-8.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team took the lead by taking all three of the doubles matches.
Elena Bompieri and
Teresa Franco Dias posted a 6-1 win at the top spot while
Alice Neves and
Victoria Giannaccini also took home a 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot.
Karina Blas and
Edith Croda rounded things out with a 6-0 win at No. 3.
Bompieri continued the Pacers lead after claiming the No. 1 singles match by scores of 6-3, 7-6. Dias extended the margin after posting a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 2.
Third-seeded
Croda won 6-2, 6-2 while
Blas took down her opponent 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4.
Rebekka Heigermoser brought in a decisive 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 5 spot while Neves finished things off with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6.
The Pacers return to action Saturday, March 23 when they head to Georgia Southwestern at 2:30 p.m.
