AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team picked up a win over Coker Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 4-0 on the season.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team won No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, taking a 1-0 lead heading into singles action. The team also won the third doubles matchup.
Top-seeded
Elena Bompieri and
Teresa Franco Dias won their match 6-2, while
Victoria Giannaccini and
Alice Neves took the second matchup 6-3. The third slot was won 6-0 by
Karina Blas and
Edith Croda.
The Pacers took wins in five of six contests in singles action. Bompieri, playing at the top spot, bested her foe 6-1, 6-0. Blas, playing at No. 3, registered a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Croda took part in the 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 while
Rebekka Heigermoser accounted for an 8-1 win at No. 5. Neves downed her opponent rather quickly, winning 6-0, 6-1.
The Pacers return to action Friday when they travel to Georgia Gwinnett at 1 p.m.
