ANDERSON, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over the Anderson Trojans Monday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 5-0 on the season.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team won No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, securing the point for the visitors. The tandem of
Alice Neves and
Victoria Giannaccini prevailed over their opponents 6-1 in the No. 2 position.
Karina Blas and
Edith Croda competed at the No. 3 position and bested their foes with a 6-3 score.
USC Aiken tallied wins in four of the six singles matches. Theresa Franco Dias, playing in the No. 2 slot, won by scores of 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. Blas overcame a 6-2 loss in the first set to win the next two 6-4, 6-2.
Croda didn't give up a point, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5.
Rebekka Heigermoser secured a win at No. 6, 7-5, 6-3.
The Pacers return to action Saturday, Feb. 23, when they host Queens at 1 p.m.
