AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team picked up a win over Coker Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 3-0 on the season.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, taking a 1-0 lead heading into singles action.
Top-seeded
Salvador Bandeira and
Antonio Sabugueiro won their match 6-4, while
Alex Sklizovic and Valentin Larroque took the third matchup 6-3. In the second slot,
Tales Silva and
Vicente Andrades dropped the matchup 7-5.
The Pacers took wins in all six contests in singles action. Silva, playing at the top spot, bested his foe in a three set matchup 6-1, 2-6, 7-6. Bandeira, playing at No. 2, registered a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
In the No. 3 spot, Sabugueiro gained a 6-1, 6-4 victory. Andrades took part in the 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 while Sklizovic accounted for a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5.
Francesco Satta downed his opponent in the No. 6 spot, winning 6-3, 6-0.
The Pacers return to action Friday when they travel to Georgia Gwinnett at 1 p.m.
