ANDERSON, S.C. – The No. 18 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team defeated Anderson by a 4-3 score Monday.
The Pacers are now 4-0 on the season.
After losing the doubles point, head coach
Steve Dahm's team prevailed with the victory, winning four matches in singles play.
Salvador Bandeira picked up the win at the No. 2 spot with a strong first set by a score of 6-0. He worked hard to secure the win in the second set, taking home a 7-5 victory.
Antonio Sabugueiro, playing at No. 3, defeated his opponent with a quick 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Vicente Andrades defeated his foe in his first set 6-2. After dropping the second set 6-1, Andrades garnered the win by a 6-2 score in the third frame, securing the point for the Pacers at No. 4.
Francesco Satta registered a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 6 slot.
The Pacers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. when they host Queens.
