USC Aiken trailed 46-33 at the break, but Miller's team outscored the designated visitors 17-16 in the third quarter. Taouil's free throw in the early going sliced the deficit to nine, but the Eagles managed to take a 62-46 lead with just under two minutes to go in the frame. However, Farrar found Gardner to make it a 14-point contest. With just 13 seconds to play in the quarter, Taouil connected on a pass to Suzuki for a jumper, which pulled USC Aiken within 12 at 62-50 going into the fourth.

A three-point shot from Mack with 2:41 to go in the fourth made it a 72-62 game, but USC Aiken could get no closer the rest of the way.
