AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team has been selected third in the PBC Preseason Poll, which was announced Thursday.
The Pacers garnered 106 total points in the poll. Augusta was first while UNC Pembroke was selected second. Francis Marion was chosen fourth while Columbus State rounded out the top five teams.
Young Harris, Clayton State, Georgia College, Lander, North Georgia, Flagler and Georgia Southwestern completed the poll.
Head coach
Mark Vanderslice's team is coming off a 27-6 ledger, including an 18-4 record in league play. USC Aiken finished second in the league last year, advancing to the PBC Championship game.
The Pacers were the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Southeast Region, advancing to the second round of the tournament.
USC Aiken opens the season Friday when it squares off against Davenport in the SCB Hall Of Fame Classic in St. Joseph, Mo. Live stats and video will be available at PacerSports.com.
