AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team earned a hard fought 1-0 win over Georgia Southwestern Sunday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 3-6 overall, including 2-1 in league play. The Hurricanes are 4-7 overall and 0-3 against conference foes.
Giuseppe Cimino ended the scoreless contest at the 101:56 mark off a pass from
Nick Avant.

Ike Ofoje's team earned three corner kicks in the opening minutes, but the squad could muster only one shot, which sailed just high from
Duncan Mihoulides at the 5:58 mark.

Ricardo Pineda had attempts that missed high in the first portion of the first half.
Giuseppe Cimino's two shots on goal in the first period were both saved, keeping the contest scoreless heading into the second stanza.
Six corner kicks in the first 15 minutes of the second half put USC Aiken into great position, but the team was unable to find the back of the net.
In the first overtime period,
Ricard Saintil's attempt was blocked.
Chukwudi Apugo's shot sailed wide in the 100th minute of action.
After the start of the second period, Avant found Cimino for the golden goal in the 102
nd minute. Avant made a brilliant pass to Cimino in the middle of the pitch. Cimino promptly blasted the attempt past the keeper for victory.
The teams played to a double-overtime draw last year.
Kenneth Kalek played all 102 minutes between the pipes, stopping five shots.
