NEWBERRY, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team picked up a 1-0 victory at Newberry Tuesday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 1-1 on the season while the Wolves fall to 1-1-1.

Jordan Misiri put head coach
Ike Ofoje's team on the board for the first time this season with just 1:24 before the halftime break.
After a save from
Kenneth Kalek, Misiri managed to corral the ball on the left side of the pitch. Misiri beat the Wolves' defense and blasted a shot past Brad Dixon for the 1-0 advantage.
USC Aiken nearly pushed the margin to 2-0, but
Daniel Orillac's attempt narrowly missed high of the frame in the 62
nd minute.
Kalek was up for the challenge moments later as he turned away a pair of attempts by the home squad, rendering the Wolves without a goal.
Misiri was on a break-away in the 87
th minute, but a foul sent him to the ground. After a yellow card was issued, Orillac registered a shot on goal, but it was saved.
The USC Aiken defense stepped up, thwarting a last-minute opportunity from the home team. The Wolves played a corner kick into the box with 36 seconds to play, but Ofoje's squad managed to send it toward midfield, securing the victory.
For the match, Misiri tallied three shots while picking up the lone goal of the match. Orillac had two attempts while

Neil Hamilton,
Billy Johns and
Sammy Viada all had an attempt.
Between the pipes, Kalek was spectacular. He stopped all 10 shots he faced while playing all 90 minutes in the shutout.
