AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team lost a hard-fought 1-0 overtime match to Catawba Monday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 0-2 on the season while the Indians stand at 2-0.

Hilary George's team nearly got on the board at the 14:59 mark when
Monica Armendariz blasted a shot from 20 yards out. However, it ricocheted off the crossbar, keeping the contest scoreless.
Gressa Olson's attempt at the 27:52 mark was stopped.
Makenzie Cude was up for the task during the first half of play, stopping six shots by the Indians while sending the match into halftime without a score. Cude was huge in the closing seconds, turning away a pair of shots by the visitors.
With 18 minutes to play in the second period, USC Aiken's defense stepped up, clearing away the ball after a scrum in the box.
Amanda Giordano played an outstanding corner kick into the far side of the box with under three minutes to go, connecting with
Tashiana Kwatowski. However, her sliding shot missed just wide of the frame.
Neither team managed to score in the waning moments, sending the contest into overtime.
USC Aiken staved off a shot in the first minute of overtime and continued to play solid defensively. However, the Indians managed to score off a corner kick at the 96:22 mark for the win.
For the match, the Pacers were out-shot 24-7, including 9-4 on goal.
Cude was solid between the pipes, turning away eight attempts in the loss.
