AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 19 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team registered a 9-0 win over Salem International Friday.
The Pacers are now 12-5 on the season.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team overpowered the visitors from the outset. Top-seeded
Tales Silva and
Alex Sklizovic registered an 8-4 win while
Vicente Andrades and
Antonio Sabugueiro accounted for an 8-2 win at the No. 2 slot.
Wojciech Adamek and
Alvaro Garcia Gil did not lose a game in the 8-0 sweep at the No. 3 position.
In singles action, Sabugueiro gaernered a 6-2, 6-0 win at the top spot. Andrades, playing at No. 2, posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Garcia Gil lost just one game in the 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3.
Valentin Mounoto dit Larroque tallied a 6-0, 6-2 victory at the No. 4 spot while
Liam Wiggins totaled a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5. Sklizovic finished his perfect day with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 6.
The Pacers return to action Sunday when they travel to Francis Marion at 12 p.m.
