AMERICUS, Ga. – The No. 15 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win at Georgia Southwestern Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 10-5 overall and 3-4 in league play.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in doubles action and never looked back. Top-seeded
Vicente Andrades and
Antonio Sabugueiro cruised to an 8-3 victory. The closest competition in doubles play USC Aiken had came at No. 3, but
Valentin Mounoto dit Larroque and
Wojciech Adamek posted an 8-6 win.
In singles action, the Pacers were not seriously challenged. Andrades registered a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 while Sabugueiro tallied a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the No. 2 slot.
Alvaro Garcia Gil did not lose a game in the 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 3 position.
Larroque notched a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 4 while
Alex Sklizovic garnered a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 5 position. Adamek rounded out the win by tallying a 7-5, 6-1 decision at the No. 6 spot.
The Pacers return to action Thursday when they host No. 10 Wingate at 2 p.m.
