COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 15 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team lost a 9-0 decision at No. 3 Columbus State Friday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 9-5 on the season, including a 2-4 mark in league play.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team put forth a solid effort in each match, but the home team was able to come out on top.
In doubles action, second-seeded
Vicente Andrades and
Antonio Sabugueiro played well, but dropped a hard-fought 9-7 contest.
Alex Sklizovic and
Tales Silva saw tiem at the top spot and came up short by an 8-4 count. At the No. 3 slot,
Alvaro Garcia Gil and
Wojciech Adamek lost an 8-3 contest.
In singles action Sabugueiro took his foe to a third set, but lost 7-5, 2-6, 8-10.
The Pacers return to action tomorrow when they play at Georgia Southwestern. The match is slated to start at 12 p.m.
