AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball team lost a 62-53 contest to Flagler Wednesday evening in a PBC contest.
The Pacers are now 5-17 overall and 2-14 in league play. The Saints improve to 14-6 overall and 12-4 against conference foes.

Mark Miller's team was led by
Melyk Taouil's 15 points before she fouled out.
Kyrie' Chandler added 12 markers while
Marissa Bruce contributed 11 points and nine rebounds.
Star Toomey snagged a game-best 11 rebounds.
After falling behind 8-0, head coach
Mark Miller's team embarked on a 12-3 run, pulling within one at 13-12. During the spurt,
Phenicia Howard buried a three-ball. Taouil and Chandler followed suit, each hitting shots from downtown. However, the Saints went on an 8-1 run to end the first quarter.
The visitors pushed the margin to 12 at 31-19, but Miller's squad battled back. Down 34-22,
Sade Johnson hit a free throw. Taouil nailed a three-pointer and Bruce connected on a pair of foul shots just prior to halftime, making it a 34-28 game at the break.
USC Aiken trailed by 11 entering the fourth quarter, but made it a tight game down the stretch. Neither team scored for the first 2:19. Then, Bruce hit a charity toss to make it 50-40. Trailing 54-41, Toomey took a pass from Chandler for a lay-up. Taouil followed it up with a jumper off a pass from
Celine Vega, making it 54-45. With 3:36 to go, Taouil drained a shot from distance, pulling the team within six at 56-50, but it was as close as the team could get over the final 3:20.
For the game, USC Aiken hit 15-of-60 from the floor (25 percent), including a seven-of-24 effort from downtown (29.2 percent). Miller's team hit 16-of-30 from the charity stripe (53.3 percent). USC Aiken converted 26 miscues into 28 points.
