AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 3-1 victory over Georgia College Saturday afternoon in a league match-up.
The Pacers are now 21-3 overall and 11-1 in league play. The Bobcats are 14-11 overall and 6-6 against conference foes.

Glenn Cox's team was led by junior
Christine Carroll's 19 kills on a .314 attack percentage. She also boasted eight digs and a match-best five blocks.
Kayla Duggan notched a double-double with 18 kills and 19 digs while also sharing match-best accolades with five blocks.
Anita Cookey-Gam reached double figures, slamming home 12 kills.
Ali Kirk dished out a career-high 37 assists and added a block.
Alli Bell distributed 23 assists and 14 digs for a double-double effort.
Defensively,
Rebecca Martinez led everyone with 40 digs.
Alie Smith added 21 while
Vannah Strozier hit double figures with 12 digs.
After dropping the first set, USC Aiken fought back in the second, rattling off four straight points for an 8-4 edge, with two kills coming from Smith. The visitors closed within four, but Duggan's kill made it 17-12. Leading 19-15, Cookey-Gam hammered home a pass for a five-point advantage. After two miscues by the Bobcats, Bell found the court for a 23-15 advantage. Carroll and Duggan ended the set moments later with back-to-back kills.
The third frame was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading leads early on. Up 14-13, Duggan found the court as did Cookey-Gam for a 16-13 lead. Duggan and Bell garnered kills for an 18-13 margin only to see Georgia College pull within two at 22-20. However, Smith threw down a pass from Kirk and Duggan stuffed an attack. Two plays later, a miscue by the visitors made it 25-21 in favor of the Pacers.
Despite taking an 8-6 lead in the fourth stanza, USC Aiken was unable to hold the margin. Cox's team found itself trailing 24-22 after back-to-back mistakes. However, the poised squad battled back. Kirk found Carroll for three straight points, taking a 25-24 lead despite a time-out by the visitors. Then, the Bobcats tried for the kill, but USC Aiken was up for the challenge as Carroll and Smith ended the match with a block.
The Pacers return to action Saturday at 4 p.m at the PBC Tournament, which will be hosted by Lander. The team will play the winner of Flagler and Georgia College.
