AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over Albany State Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 13-2 on the season while the Golden Rams fall to 5-12.
Head coach
Glenn Cox's team was paced by
Kayla Duggan's match-high eight kills.
Kelsey Spurlin added six while hitting .313.
Avery Macklin and
Christine Carroll had five kills apiece.
Okwunne Ogbogu registered four kills while posting four blocks. Macklin added four blocks as well while
Logan McMullin tallied a pair of solo stuffs.
Brittani Vialdores and
Anita Cookey-Gam added three and two kills, respectively.
Ali Kirk posted 17 assists and served up five aces.
Alli Bell accounted for 13 assists, seven digs and an ace.
Vannah Strozier posted a career-high 16 digs to go along with two aces.
Duggan had eight digs as did
Rebecca Martinez in limited court time.
Brynn Bonner chipped in six digs.
For the match, USC Aiken hit .250 while holding the Golden Rams to a -.089 attack percentage. Cox's group had 38 kills to 14 for the visitors. The team also picked up a season-best 10 aces.
The squad dished out 33 assists on 38 kills and registered 57 digs in the victory.
