AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team lost its PBC opener to No. 2 Columbus State Saturday afternoon by a score of 4-0.??
The Pacers drop to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in league play.
The Cougars improve to 3-0 on the year and 1-0 against conference competition.

Hilary George's team put forth an outstanding effort in the contest and limited the Cougars to a 1-0 lead at the break.

Sarah Moore blasted a shot toward the frame, but it was deflected by a CSU player.
Sarah Drury took a shot at the 39:27 mark, but it missed just wide of the goal, keeping it a 1-0 contest at the break.
Gressa Olson rocketed a shot in the 50
th minute, but it missed wide. In the 51
st minute, the Cougars went ahead 2-0. The visitors tacked on a goal in the 59

th minute, but USC Aiken continued to play strong.
Allison Glenn registered a shot in her first career action that narrowly missed. Her attempt came from 25 yards out and it hit the right corner of the crossbar.
For the match, USC Aiken was out-shot 20-6, including an 11-2 effort on target. George's team accounted for two corner kicks compared to seven by the visitors.
Katie Commins played all 90 minutes between the pipes and stopped seven shots.
The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they travel to Georgia College for a contest starting at 7 p.m.
