AIKEN, S.C. - The No. 19 University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team registered a 14-0 region win over Chowan Friday evening.
The Pacers are now 35-11 on the season while the Hawks fall to 24-22.
After a scoreless first inning for both squads, USC Aiken jumped out to a 2-0 advantage and never looked back.

Brian Parreira led off the third frame with a walk and was able to advance to third after a double by
Zach Moon. An error by the visitors and a single by
Skylar Mercado allowed Head Coach
Kenny Thomas' team to score two runs.
Later in the inning,
Luke Westerberg hit a two-run single to give the Pacers a 7-0 advantage heading into the fourth.
USC Aiken's bats remained hot as Parreira led off the fourth with a single. After two wild pitches, he was able to advance to third where
Daulton Weeks sent him home with an RBI double. A sacrifice fly by
Tyler Ammerman and a double by
Jose Bonilla allowed two more runs to score. USC Aiken added three more runs without any hits via two walks, two batters being hit by pitches and one wild pitch, giving them a 13-0 margin.
The Pacers added one more run in the eighth frame to make the final score 14-0.
For the game, Benitez threw five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts en route to picking up his 10
th win of the season.
Connor Norton chipped in two scoreless frames, while
Daniel Wiggins and
Blake Cantrell each threw one scoreless inning, respectively.
The pitchers combined for 17 strikeouts, which is just one shy of the school record.
Bonilla led things offensively with two doubles and a single while going three-for-four, while Parreira was perfect with a pair of singles.
