GREENWOOD, S.C. – The No. 23 University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team posted a 4-3, 10-inning win at Lander Friday evening in a Peach Belt Conference contest.
The Pacers are now 21-7 overall and 7-3 in league play.

Kenny Thomas' team got on the board in the fourth inning when
Nile Goings launched a solo homer to left field for a 1-0 edge.
Daulton Weeks was hit by a pitch and moved to second when
Tyler Ammerman singled to center field. A
Joey Smithers infield hit loaded the bases. With one down,
Jonathan Banks lifted a sacrifice fly to right field, plating Ammerman for a 2-0 margin.
The Bearcats battled back with three runs in the sixth, but USC Aiken would knot the score in the eighth.
Goings launched his second lead-off round-tripper of the night. The shot over the left field wall made it a 3-3 contest.
Joseph Benitez was spectacular on the mound. He tossed eight frames, striking out 10. He gave way to
Hunter Dollander in the ninth, who promptly shut down the home team to force extra innings.
With one down in the 10
th, Ammerman sent a shot to right field for a triple.
Skylar Mercado came in as a pinch hitter and promptly singled home Ammerman for the 4-3 score.
Dollander struck out the side in the 10
th to pick up the win. He is now 2-0 on the season and finished with six strikeouts.
