Pacers Fall To No. 5 Saints

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team lost a 4-1 decision at Peach Belt Conference foe and No. 5 ranked Flagler Wednesday evening.

The Pacers are now 3-8 overall and 1-4 in league play. The Saints improve to 9-0-1 on the year and 4-0-1 against conference foes.

After playing solid defense for the first 20-plus minutes of action, USC Aiken fell behind 1-0 in the 25th minute of action. The Saints added two more goals in the 31st and 34th minutes of play, respectively.

The Pacers registered their first shot at the 50:56 mark as Tashiana Kwatowski blasted an attempt that was stopped by Flagler's keeper. Gressa Olson and Casey Rish quickly put shots on target over the next three minutes, but neither could find the back of the net.

In the 58th minute of action, Tori Caldwell took a corner kick. The ball was flicked around in the box until Gressa Olson played it high over the keeper with her left foot, making it 3-1.

Despite the Pacers continuing to put up a tough defense, Flagler managed to score a goal in the 72nd minute of play.

Though USC Aiken had several more shot attempts in the second half, no balls succeeded in finding the back of the net.

For the match, Karin Cadwalader played 39 minutes between the pipes. Katie Commins saw 51 minutes in goal and registered two saves.
