SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball team saw its seven-match winning streak come to a halt with a 3-0 loss at Armstrong State Friday evening.
The Pacers are now 10-2 on the season and 3-1 against conference competition. The Pirates are 11-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Glenn Cox's team was paced by
Taylor Stratton's match-high nine kills.
Julia Forster and
Shawn Hotson added six kills apiece while
Emily Teelon chipped in four.
Kassy Johannsen and
Okwunne Ogbogu added three kills each while
Alicia Hines had two.
Teelon dished out 23 assists to go along with eight digs while
Danielle Mercer notched a match-best 16 digs. Stratton and Forster added seven and six digs, respectively. At the net, Johannsen was in on three blocks.
For the match, USC Aiken tallied 33 kills, but committed 16 errors for a .163 attack percentage. The team also gave up 14 points on receiving errors from serves.
The Pacers did not lead until the third set. The squad dropped the first two set by scores of 25-15 and 25-19.
In the third frame, it was a back-and-forth affair. Trailing 7-5, Johannsen slammed home a pass from Teelon. She was in on a block with Stratton, knotting the contest at 7-7.
Down 9-8, Ogbogu garnered two of her three kills while Teelon served up an ace to make it 11-9. Cox's team extended the margin to 16-12 after kills from Hotson and Forster before Hotson and Johannsen combined for a block. However, the Pirates rattled off six straight points to take a lead they would not relinquish.
