AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Lander Sunday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference contest.
The Pacers fall to 3-9 on the season, including a 1-5 mark against conference competition. The Bearcats improve to 3-6-1 overall and 2-3-1 in league play.

Hilary George's team started out the match strong defensively.
Karin Cadwalader turned away a shot at the 1:59 mark. She also picked up a save on the Bearcats' second attempt, coming at the 16:27 point of the contest.
USC Aiken's offense got going in the 22
nd minute of action when
Sarah Moore blasted an attempt, but it was saved by the LU keeper.
In the 30
th minute, the Pacers were whistled for a foul in the box. On the ensuing penalty kick, Cadwalader dove to her left and stopped the shot, keeping the contest scoreless.
Amanda Giordano registered a corner kick in the 40
th minute and
Sarah Drury had a shot, but it was blocked.
After the scoreless first half, Cadwalader was put to the test early and often in the final stanza. She saved a pair of attempts in the first seven minutes of play.
The visitors put away a penalty kick goal in the 72
nd minute for what turned out to be the game-winning goal. At the 77:20 mark, Lander added a second goal.
For the match, the Bearcats totaled nine shots compared to three for the Pacers. LU had eight shots on goal compared to one by USC Aiken.
Cadwalader tallied six saves in the loss. USC Aiken had two corner kicks compared to four by the Bearcats.
