Box Score AIKEN, SC--Five Pacer pitchers combined to stymie the Blue Raiders offense as 27th ranked USC Aiken (16-8) cruised past Lindsey-Wilson College (2-11) 13-2 on Wednesday night in non-conference baseball action at J.H. Satcher Field.
Demetrick Drumming and
Ashley Farr combined for five hits and eight RBI for the Pacers.
USCA jumped out in front in a hurry with four runs in the first inning keyed by
Drumming's 10th home run of the season. The three-run blast to left field scored
Kyle Langley who singled and
Tavis Cummings who walked. The Pacers got just two hits in the inning but capitalized on Lindsey-Wilson's erratic pitching. In the inning,
Jeremy McQueary (0-1) walked three and hit two batters. He worked 1.2 inning allowing six earned runs on five hits and five walks in the loss.
Senior
Andy Mitchell got his first start of the season but earned a no decision working 3.0 innings giving up two earned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three.
Adam Green (1-0),
Mitch Hearne,
Matt Ockuly, and
David Caison combined to hold the Blue Raiders to one hit over the final 6.0 innings. In not surrendering a run, the four Pacer hurlers fanned eight batters and walked just two.
Drumming finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI while
Farr was 3-for-6 with five RBI and extended his hitting streak to 14 games. The Pacers posted two more runs in the second and the fifth innings before sealing the game with a five-spot in the seventh.
Brandon Dietz was 1-for-4 for Lindsey-Wilson. His RBI single in the third inning drove in the Blue Raiders only runs of the game.
The same two teams will square off again tomorrow, Thursday at 6:00 PM.
