AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer team couldn't stay with a tough Anderson College team on Tuesday afternoon in Aiken as they fell 6-2.
IT took the Trojans only four minutes before they found the back of the net with the first of two goals on the day from Cath Doell (assist Sharon Lievertz).
USC Aiken responded in less than a minute with a breakaway goal from freshman Jacqueline Francois (assist
Christy Cousins).
But Anderson scored five straight goals in the next fifty minutes of play to claim their third victory of the season. USCA's final goal came in the 72
nd minute from Francois off a beautiful cross pass by Cousins.
In goal for the third straight game for the Lady Pacers was
Jessica Scarlato. She finished the day with nine saves, while Anderson countered with Amanda Barrow who chipped in one save. Anderson outshot USCA 22-3 for the day.
The Lady Pacers will conclude their two-game homestand on Friday when they host Mars Hill at 4:30 p.m.
