At the top of the world in one moment and having to fight back through tremendous adversity the next. This could describe what junior Emry Tsitouris went through during her sophomore campaign.

Coming off a freshman season that saw her pick up Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year accolades and all-conference honors after posting 11.5 points and 9.0 rebounds a game, Tsitouris was injured prior to the start of her sophomore campaign. A tremendous, hard-working person by nature, Tsitouris overcame her injury and was ready to start the season-opening game.

However, after a few contests, Tsitouris went down to the ground on a loose ball and her opponent landed on her leg. Tsitouris played through the pain during the next contest, but the injury she sustained allowed her to only play in eight contests during her second year with the team.

Tsitouris continued cheering on her teammates throughout the rest of the season while she was working relentlessly in order to be ready for her junior year. The hard work she puts forth in all aspects of her life allowed her to step onto the court as a starter against Carson-Newman in the season opener on Nov. 11. Through two games, Tsitouris is averaging 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in just 19 minutes a night.
