AIKEN, S.C. – The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Week is men’s basketball standout Jameel Rideout.

Rideout, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., guided the Pacers to a 1-0 week.

He erupted for a team-best 21 points on seven-of-16 shooting, including a five-of-10 effort from behind the three-point stripe. 

Rideout distributed a team-high three assists to go along with four rebounds and a block in 27 minutes of action.

In the second half, he scored 15 points on five-of-eight shooting, including four-of-six from downtown in 14 minutes of work.

Rideout’s 21 points not only marked a team-high effort for the sophomore, but also a career-best effort.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
