University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout Julia Forster has been named the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2016-17 athletic year ending Sept. 18, 2016.

Forster, a 6-0 junior outside hitter from Long Island, N.Y., helped the team win its first two matches against conference foes over the weekend.

Forster entered the USC Aiken record book for kills in a three-set match by posting 17 in the win over Francis Marion. The 17 kills are the sixth most for a three-set match in school history. Against UNC Pembroke, she nearly had a double-double with nine kills and nine digs. 

In the victory over the Patriots, Forster notched a double-double with 17 kills and a career-high tying 18 digs. She also registered a pair of blocks, averaged 4.33 kills per set and hit .262 for the week.  

The USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
