University of South Carolina Aiken women’s basketball standout Star Toomey has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 25, 2018.

Toomey is a junior from Dacula, Ga.

In the overtime win at Augusta, Toomey posted career-high numbers with 19 points and a USC Aiken Division II record 18 rebounds. She hit nine-of-12 from the floor and also blocked two shots.

In the home win over Young Harris, Toomey added eight points on four-of-five shooting and snagged seven boards. Additionally, she blocked a pair of shots and had two steals.

For the week, Toomey averaged 13.5 points and 12.5 rebounds while guiding the Pacers to back-to-back wins.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
