Freshman cheerleader Kellie Wooten may stand only 4’11”, but her perseverance, drive and determination easily stands more than 10’.

Wooteen, a native of West Columbia, S.C., graduated from Airport H.S. The standout cheerleader was a two-year captain on her high school team and was named the Most Spirited Cheerleader every year.

Wooten, however, had to work harder and overcome more obstacles than others could possibly imagine. Yet, on Nov. 10, 2017, she made her collegiate debut on the sideline of the USC Aiken-Carson-Newman women’s basketball game.

Her ability to thrive and push through any hardships is a testament to her strength and determination.

Recently, Brielle Jungblut sat down with Wooten for the latest Innovative Solutions “A Closer Look.”
