Susan Hood is in her fifth year at USCA in an administrative role. Having served as the Compliance Coordinator, Hood is now the Assistant A.D. for Facilities and Event Management.
Hood, a native of Windsor, S.C., moved into a full-time position after spending the previous two years working in the compliance office in a part-time spot. Prior to the 2023-24 academic year, Hood was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director.
Hood works with admissions and records to determine and monitor initial, transfer and continuing eligibility for every student-athlete. She will monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and will work with the PBC and NCAA to produce reports.
Hood monitors compliance with NCAA and PBC rules and regulations concerning amateurism, playing and practice seasons, recruiting and related issues. She will also provide interpretations of NCAA and PBC rules and regulations and will provide rules education for administrators, coaches, faculty, student-athletes and boosters.
Hood was a four-year standout softball student-athlete as a Pacer. One of the most accomplished softball players in the program’s history, Hood holds the school record for career triples with 24. She’s third in the record book with six sacrifice flies. Hood is sixth on the career chart with 93 RBI, ninth with 238 total bases and ninth with 159 base hits.
She graduated from USC Aiken with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science before earning her Master’s degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire.
She is married to Bruce Hood and has a daughter, Lexi.
