Greg Wilson was announced as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at USCA on Oct. 7, 2025.
With nearly a decade of experience developing collegiate athletes across multiple levels, Wilson brings a diverse background in performance training, injury prevention and program design to the Division of Athletics. His career includes leadership roles at NCAA Division II and III institutions, where he has consistently enhanced strength and conditioning programs for a wide range of sports.
Wilson comes to USCA from Saint Michael’s College, where he had served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning since August 2022. At Saint Michael’s, Wilson designed, scheduled and instructed year-round training programs for the Purple Knights’ 21 varsity sports. He also oversaw and mentored the school’s strength and conditioning internship program, helping to develop future leaders in the field.
Prior to his time at Saint Michael’s, Wilson was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Washington and Lee University from October 2021 through May 2022. In that role, he worked closely with men’s and women’s lacrosse, field hockey, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and volleyball, tailoring training programs to meet each team’s competitive demands.
Before arriving at Washington and Lee, Wilson spent several years at the University of Lynchburg, serving in multiple roles from graduate assistant to assistant strength and conditioning coach, and as an Assistant Track and Field Coach for throwing events. While at Lynchburg, he designed and implemented training programs for men’s and women’s golf, women’s basketball, field hockey, tennis, and track and field throwers, while also coaching athletes to improved performance in the throwing disciplines.
Wilson also gained experience at Newberry College, where he worked as a Part-Time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach during the spring of 2019. His responsibilities included developing programs for women’s golf, women’s lacrosse, field hockey, cheer and dance, men’s soccer, tennis, and track and field. Additionally, he assisted with the football strength and conditioning program, supporting the Director in all aspects of training.
Earlier in his career, Wilson completed a Football Strength and Conditioning Internship at the University of South Carolina, where he assisted with program administration and supervised modified workouts for injured athletes.
Wilson’s foundation in the field was built through private-sector experience in Massachusetts, including roles at TRG Performance Training, Cape Cod Rehab, and Champion Physical Therapy and Performance. Across these positions, he designed individualized sports performance programs, instructed athletes in proper exercise technique, and focused on injury prevention strategies through functional movement assessment and performance optimization.
Wilson earned his degree from Lynchburg College, where he earned his B.S. in exercise physiology and a Master of Public Health.Â
As a student-athlete on the track and field team, he was the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Champion in the 2012 shot put and discus, the 2014 indoor shot put and weight throw and the 2013-14 outdoor shot put, discus and hammer throw events. Wilson also established an ODAC Indoor Track and Field Championship record in the weight throw.
